I am going to be on track this week and get some good mileage in. I feel lazy and I don't like it. I got some good knitting done though and I feel great about that. Have a great day- C'ya - Jules

Checking In
Hi, team!
Well, I've not been able to walk outside. I'm in NH, and its snowing today, and has been chilly off and on for the last couple weeks. Yesterday was OK, so I did go for a short walk.
I'm up to 20 miles, which is an estimate on the low side, so I'm going to call it 20.
Its nice to read everyone's posts and see what else everyone else is doing for exercise. It seems that all of us have the same goals - to increase activity... and if you're into goals like me, the 100/100 is great for this. I can't wait for some better weather to get out there and really log some strides!
Thanks, Jules, for the inspiration by getting this all going!

Back on, and new stuff.
Well, this has been a better week for me in my quest to look in tip top shape. My friend how has been working out for the last few years, and is in very good shape, lent me a book with some work out routines, and some work out exercises on it showing the various muscle groups, and what exercises to do to work them out. It is from the magazine Men's Health, and it is called Hard Body Plan, it has 12 week programs that run through the Beginer, Intermediate, and Advanced work out programs, I have started the beginer and I have to say that I am really enjoying it, I have never really looked forward to working out as much as I ever have before. If anyone else wants to get it, you can get it from half price books, and just sit down a read into it, and you will have any and all exercises you want. I then went out and purchased a bench press from walmart, for 50-60 dollars, and also got a barbell that came with a hundred pounds in weights. If you want to do that, I would suggest getting a barbell that is all one piece, and comes with some weights, cause you can always buy more later, plus, the bench is really nice, I got use it yesterday, for my workout, and I also got to use the barbell, and I have never felt the same when just regularly working out. I will be working out today, and I will be doing chest, back, and abs. I have to say I am really excited to work out, and I can't wait to see the results of all my hard work.
As for my miles, I do one everytime I work out, and although I have worked out 5 times in the last two weeks, I only missed one of the miles I had to run/walk, I will make up for that some time, so I have 4 down right now, and I will have 5 and maybe 6 down after today is done, so that leaves me with 96 more to go.

Day 18- Excuses, Excuses
1 mile today- 67.85 to go. Woke up with a killer headache at 2:00 am and couldn't shake it- to make matters worse busted the three littlest toes on my left foot on the chair walking through the living room this morning with an armload of laundry- I am wondering if you the color they are turning would be considered plain purple or aubergine??? Yes, they hurt but I walked a mile anyway-hey, the day can only get better- right? Hope your day is fantastic! C'ya - Jules

bum leg
I have completed 19.5 miles so far within the two weeks. I had to take a couple of days off, because I strained my left leg. I plan to start again tomorrow, even though it maybe 30 degrees outside, to pound the pavement for 3 more miles.

Took a time out
So with my new weights and not being intirely used to them yet. I found my legs very sore after doing several lunges with my weights. This threw me off for a few days, but now my legs are back, and I am ready to start running again. I am wondering if any one has the time to work out with me, because as much as I like to do it alone, it is better for yourself, and others if you have someone to talk with, and be there to tell you how you are doing, and vise versa. Anywho E-mail me, and tell me what you think. I will probably be working out a little today, and most likekly hardcore tomorrow. Thanks.

Day 17- Getting there
2 miles today- 74.35 more to go - I would rather look at it as how many more I have to go rather than what I have already done for some reason unknown to me. Maybe when I hit the 50 mile mark I will count up rather than down. I have not regretted for a moment taking on this challenge. In fact I dread it to be over because then I may have to go back to self - motivation and that is not good for me.
I am feeling the change taking place as far as how my clothes are fitting and how my body feels physically. I am a bundle of energy and I really need it this time of year with all of the yard work and Spring cleaning that needs to be done.
Yay - C'ya - Jules

Walk the Line
This week has been so darn busy that I keep forgetting to put my pedometer in the morning! I'm going to be conservative and say that I have walked about 2 miles this week. I know, its not much, but every time I have a choice between the elevator or stairs I take the stairs. If anything, this challenge has made me realize that there are many little things we can do to increase our daily activity!
So, chalk me up to 10 miles so far. I'm also doing a walk for the American Heart Association, so that will be another 5 miles or so in a couple weeks.
Note to self... pedometer tomorrow!

Well I am here now
This the first time I have posted although I have been running prior to this post. I have walked/run 2.03 miles or something like that, but I am not going to count the .03 because that is just way to picky. I am also doing other exercises while I am running, not at the same time.
I actually went out and bought some new weights so that I would be able to get a better work out than with the weights I have. I have an intended goal which I would love to reach, so in hopes that I continue to work out even after this challenge is over I hope I will be able to do. If you would like to see what I hope to look like, and will not make fun of me, check out Kratos from the God of War game series. That is really what the size, I want to be, or if you have seen the movie 300 that is a pretty acturate description as well.
When I first started running I started on the tredmil, the thing about it is I have not run in some time hardly at all. So when I first got on the tredmil and ran for two laps straight I was surprised I could even hold myself up, but the next time I ran I went for 3 laps straight and that was only 2 days later. In hopes that I will continue to be able to run the three laps, and slowly get more used to it with time, i will increase the speed at which I run every time.
Well now it is time for me to work out, I will blog probably afterwards, thanks a million for reading.

Day 15
2 miles today- 78.35 more to go. I am finding that my speed is increasing without doing it intentionally. I feel so good and am finding my stamina is getting better. I woke up with a terrible headache in the middle of night and again this morning- I really didn't want to take any tylenol until after my workout and I got something to eat but I don't even need it now- it is completely gone! I look forward to the weather getting warm and STAYING warm so I can use some of this energy to do yard work. Have a great day and let us know how you are doing- C'ya - Jules
